CALIFORNIA PHYSICIAN AGREES TO LICENSE RESTRICTION IN ARIZONA

Scottsdale, Ariz. - The Arizona Medical Board announced today that Mahendra Nath, M.D., has signed an Interim Consent Agreement that prohibits him from practicing medicine in Arizona.

According to the document, the Fresno, California physician who is Board certified in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and in Pain Management “was criminally convicted of a crime substantially related to the qualifications, functions and duties of a physician.” The conviction came after the Medical Board of California made findings of gross negligence and unprofessional conduct.

The Consent Agreement states that the Arizona Medical Board found evidence that if Dr. Nath were to practice medicine in this state there would be a danger to the public health and safety.

The Arizona Medical Board licenses and regulates more than 17,700 allopathic physicians. More than 10,000 licensees have practices in Arizona.
