This policy aids BOMEX in establishing fair, lawful and easily understood access points for the public when the agency is contacted for licensing or disciplinary information. Additionally, this policy specifies which categories of information the Board will disclose and which will be kept confidential pursuant to statutory requirements. Lastly, this policy identifies which pieces of licensing and disciplinary information will be disclosed through the various means available to consumers.

DISCLOSURE OF AGENCY INFORMATION

The Board of Medical Examiners (Board) seeks to facilitate access to information. The Board is committed to protecting the public's health, safety and welfare by providing the information consumers need to make informed decisions about their health care providers. Our goal is to establish fair, lawful and easily understood access points for the public when the agency is contacted for licensing or disciplinary information. Currently, Board staff receive requests for information via fax, postal mail, telephone, in-person or on the website.

To aid us in reaching our goal, the proceeding table illustrate the enacted public disclosure policies the full Board approved. The table (General Disclosure Status of Agency Information) illustrates which categories of information the Board will disclose and which will be kept confidential.
