Summary of Board Actions
During its April 26-28 meeting, the Board voted to issue:
- One Suspension
- Three Practice Restrictions
- One Surrender of License
- Three Decrees of Censure
- Eight Letters of Reprimand
- Six Probationary Orders
- Three cases were referred to Formal Hearing
The Board directed staff to prepare four orders for disciplinary action.
Financial Disclosure FormThe Board is required by statute to prescribe a form used to notify patients or guardians that a doctor has a direct financial interest in an outside procedure or treatment agency where patients or guardians are referred. A financial disclosure form was reviewed and approved by the Board for immediate use.
Knowingly failing to disclose this information can lead to discipline under the Board's definition of unprofessional conduct.
Legislative Update
The Board voted to finalize four administrative rules. They will be sent to the Governor's Regulatory Review Council for review and approval.
The proposed rules are:
- R4-16-102- Rehearing or Review of Board Decision
- R4-16-106- Application for Licensure
- R4-16-107- Application for Pro Bono Registration
- R4-16-108- Application for Locum Tenens Registration
Joint Board on the Regulation of Physician Assistants Conference
The Joint Board on the Regulation of Physician Assistants is hosting a conference and workshop to discuss regulations issues in the 21st century. The conference is scheduled for May 9, 2000 at the Board of Osteopathic Examiners, 9535 E. Doubletree Ranch Rd. Scottsdale, AZ. The public is welcome to attend.

The Arizona State Board of Medical Examiners has outgrown its existing facility on Morten and is scheduled to move to Scottsdale in late May. The new location at 9545 E. Doubletree Ranch Rd. Scottsdale, AZ 85258 will enable BOMEX to keep on track with its three-year strategic growth plan.

The next Full Board meeting will take place June 21-23, 2000, at the new Board of Medical Examiners' Office: 9545 E. Doubletree Ranch Road Scottsdale, Arizona 85258-5539.

From the South - Take Loop 101 to 90th Street exit, east to Via Linda.
From the North East West - From the intersection of Shea and 90th St., head south on 90th St. to Via Linda.Take Via Linda east to 95th St. Head south on 95th Street until you reach San Salvador Dr. Turn east on San Salvador Dr. then head south on 95th Way. 95th Way will run into Doubletree Ranch Rd. The office is the north blue building at 9545 E. Doubletree Ranch Rd.
